Supporting NDIS Participants with Sensory Tools
Navigating the NDIS can feel overwhelming — especially when you’re simply trying to support your child’s regulation, focus, and emotional wellbeing.
At Sensory Central, we understand that families aren’t looking for complicated systems.
You’re looking for tools that help your child feel safe in their body, more focused in their day, and more settled at home 💛
How We Support NDIS Participants
Sensory Central is not a registered NDIS provider.
However, we proudly support self-managed and plan-managed participants by providing clear, compliant invoices upon request.
This allows families to choose tools that genuinely suit their child’s needs, while staying aligned with their plan requirements.
We focus on:
- Clear product descriptions
- Practical, everyday sensory benefits
- Easy-to-understand information
- Compliant invoicing support
No confusing language. No misleading claims. Just tools that support real families.
How Sensory Tools May Support Plan Goals
Every NDIS plan is individual, and purchases should always align with personal goals.
Many sensory tools may support goals relating to:
- Sensory support
- Emotional support
- Focus and attention
- Movement breaks
- Fine motor development
- Gross motor development
It isn’t about “fixing” behaviour — it’s about supporting how a child feels and functions each day.
Why Sensory Support Matters
Some children experience the world more intensely.
Sounds may feel louder.
Textures may feel uncomfortable.
Busy environments may feel overwhelming.
When the body becomes overloaded, it can be harder for children to stay calm, focused, or engaged.
This can show up as:
- Difficulty focusing
- Big emotions
- Withdrawal
- Restlessness
- Fatigue
Sensory tools can provide structured input that helps the body feel more settled and organised.
Tools Families Often Choose
Movement Tools (e.g. Mini Trampolines)
Movement-based tools may support:
- Body awareness
- Movement breaks
- Gross motor skills
- Resetting energy levels
Short bursts of movement can help children feel calmer and more ready to focus.
Calm Corner Tools
A calm space at home or school can help children step away and reset when things feel overwhelming.
- Quiet, low-stimulation spaces
- Soft lighting
- Tactile or fidget tools
- Comfort items
These spaces support recovery without isolation.
Fidget Tools
Fidget tools may support:
- Focus during seated tasks
- Tactile input
- Transitions between activities
- Reducing restlessness
When hands are busy, it can be easier for the brain to stay organised.
Self-Managed vs Plan-Managed
Self-Managed Participants
You can purchase directly through our website and submit your invoice according to your plan requirements.
Plan-Managed Participants
We provide compliant invoices so your plan manager can process payment in line with your funding category.
If you’re unsure, we recommend checking with your plan manager or support coordinator.
Transparency Matters
We believe families deserve clarity and honesty.
- We do not use the phrase “NDIS approved”
- We do not claim endorsement
- We are not affiliated with the NDIA
We simply provide tools that may support your child when aligned with their individual goals.
